Republican Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health holds event dedicated to World Blood Donor Day

On the occasion of 14 June – World Blood Donor Day, a ceremonial event was organized by the Republican Blood Bank of the Ministry of Health.

The event brought together leaders and representatives of government institutions, private enterprises, public organizations, active blood donors, and members of the media community.

The ceremony commenced with a one-minute silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by the National Anthem of Azerbaijan.

In his opening remarks, Elkhan Nagiyev, Executive Director of the Republican Blood Bank, highlighted the ongoing measures implemented to promote blood donation in the country, the achievements attained, and the tasks ahead. He emphasized that public interest in voluntary and non-remunerated blood donation has increased significantly in recent years, contributing to the sustainable development of blood reserves and the treatment of thousands of patients across the country.

As part of the event, certificates of appreciation and awards were presented to institutions that distinguished themselves in promoting blood donation. Among the recognized organizations was the Azerbaijan Investment Holding. Individuals who have actively participated as voluntary blood donors for many years and made a significant contribution to this noble mission were also awarded.
