Azerbaijan Investment Holding and L’IMAD Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
On September 14, Azerbaijan Investment Holding (AIH) and L’IMAD, the sovereign investor of the Government of Abu Dhabi, signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral economic relations and supporting shared development objectives.
The Agreement was signed by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Jassem Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Managing Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of L’IMAD, in the presence of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and National Security Advisor of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Under the terms of the Agreement, AIH and L’IMAD plan to make joint strategic investments in the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Central Asian region. Within the partnership, particular attention will be given to priority areas of mutual interest, including industry, critical minerals and related supply chains, urban and transport infrastructure, energy, and digital connectivity.
The parties highlighted that the Agreement represents a clear example of the dynamically growing economic relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE and reflects their joint commitment to identifying high-quality investment opportunities that support sustainable development. The Agreement aims to facilitate the joint deployment of long-term capital into strategic sectors, strengthen regional integration and connectivity, and create sustainable, long-term economic value for both countries.
